On June 24th, the 2024 Work Conference of the National Maritime Graduates Employment Cooperation Group was held at Dalian Maritime University. More than 140 people attended the conference, including Guan Aiguang, Deputy Director of the Personnel Education Department of the Ministry of Transport, Yang Hongtao, Director of the Career Development Education Department of the Student Service and Quality Development Center of the Ministry of Education, Zhu Kexin, Director of the Personnel Education Department of the Maritime Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, and representatives from maritime colleges and shipping companies from all over the country. Our Vice President Zheng Jun and his delegation were invited to attend the conference.
Guan Aiguang, representing the guiding unit of the collaborative group and the Personnel and Education Department of the Ministry of Transport, fully affirmed the work effectiveness of the collaborative group in the speech. She pointed out that the collaborative group, based on their job responsibilities and focusing on industry development, has done a lot of effective work in information services, communication and coordination, and educational guidance. She requested the collaborative group to continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation, enhance students' competitiveness in employment, and strengthen their sense of professional identity in the future work of maritime colleges; Secondly, shipping companies should establish a sound mechanism for the use of maritime talents, strive to create more high-quality employment opportunities, and enhance the sense of belonging among crew members; Thirdly, the collaborative group should play a good role, provide information services, coordinate supply and demand, and act as a staff assistant.
Li Liqian, Deputy Leader of the Collaboration Group and General Manager of Huayang Maritime Center Co., Ltd., stated in his speech that as a standing working group unit, Huayang Maritime Center shoulders industry and social responsibilities. After 30 years of development, it is willing to actively continue the spirit of responsibility to society and the industry in the construction and cultivation of a high-quality crew team, fulfill the responsibilities of a leading enterprise in the industry and education integration community, and contribute to the personal career development of crew members and the future of the shipping industry.
Xu Minqiang, the leader of the cooperation group and the secretary of the Party Committee of Dalian Maritime University, delivered a work report on behalf of the standing working group entitled Work Together to Promote Development and Build New Achievements, further doing a good job in the employment of navigation graduates and the construction of the crew, giving full play to the positive role of the cooperation group, actively serving the competent departments of the industry, shipping enterprises and institutions, and navigation colleges, and will take practical actions to contribute to accelerating the construction of a transportation power, and strive to be a pioneer of Chinese path to modernization.
The conference also presented a report on the employment quality of the 2023 graduates of maritime majors nationwide to the participating units, and introduced the source information and campus recruitment needs of the 2025 graduates of maritime majors nationwide. At the conference, Zheng Jun announced the list of National Outstanding Graduates of Navigation Majors in 2024 and the collection list of employment figures for graduates of navigation majors who went to the places where the country needed them the most. He also presented certificates to the representatives of the graduates.
JMI will also take this event as an opportunity to deepen cooperation among the government, the enterprises and JMI, strengthen supply and demand matching, broaden the employment market for students majoring in navigation in JMI, and lay a solid foundation for the employment of the 2025 graduates majoring in navigation.
